The New Orleans office of J. Ray McDermott Engineering began operations in 1947 and has operated continuously since that time, providing design, drafting, and construction assistance to oil and gas production companies worldwide. This office also supports the J. Ray McDermott (JRM) Fabrication and Offshore Marine Installation Divisions. Working together, JRM companies provide clients with the economies-of-scale that turnkey projects offer.

Our staff has excellent educational credentials, a high level of pertinent construction experience, and access to a vast store of information from more than 11,800 J. Ray McDermott employees working in a variety of energy services areas.

Services for Hydrocarbon Production Facilities Include:

  • Offshore Platforms, Pipelines and Associated Facilities

JRM Engineering Services Include:

  • Engineering, Design and Drafting, Construction Support, Procurement, Project Management, Finite Element Analysis, Deep Water Installation and Equipment Engineering

Naval Architecture:

  • Platform component installation, vessel construction and modifications

Projects we have designed range from Gulf of Mexico oil and gas fixed platforms in up to 1000 ft. water depth (including "Cinnamon", The world's deepest tripod platform) to a $1 billion offshore sulfur mine complex in 200 ft. water depth. We are currently engineering a 470 ft. water depth tripod platform and several offshore platforms, including performing construction engineering for floating structures such as tension leg floating platforms and spar floating systems in up to 3,500 ft. water depth and compliant towers in up to 1,900 ft. water depth.
