PRESS RELEASE: July 27, 2007

McDermott Completes World’s First Modular LNG Contract

PT McDermott Indonesia (McDermott), a J. Ray McDermott, S.A. company, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed a contract to fabricate 75 modules for North West Shelf Venture’s Train V LNG Project, operated by Woodside Energy Limited (WEL). This is the world’s first modular liquid natural gas (LNG) plant. The project remains on schedule for LNG deliveries by Q4 2008.

The project consisted of building 75 modules at McDermott’s Batam Island yard for the North West Shelf Venture. The modules were transported in 17 shipments to the North West Shelf Ventures’ existing LNG plant in Karratha, Western Australia. The first modules were shipped out in August 2006 and the last modules in May 2007.

All modules were delivered on schedule and were shipped out ‘punch list’ free and in accordance with strict Australian Quarantine and Inspection Requirements (AQIS).

The contract was awarded in July 2005 by Woodside, the operator of the North West Shelf Venture’s Phase V LNG Expansion project in Australia. McDermott also provided interface management with other contractors, suppliers and vendors.

Said Denis Scott, project director for McDermott, “The synergy between WEL, FWW and J. Ray, and the alignment each party’s goals, resulted in a successful project, with final documentation closed out in record time. At times, it was hard work, but it is rewarding when a project like this can be completed successfully and on schedule. Kudos goes to the entire Train V team.”

The six equal participants in the North West Shelf Venture are: BHP Billiton Petroleum (North West Shelf) Pty Ltd; BP Developments Australia Pty Ltd; Chevron Australia Pty Ltd; Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) Pty Ltd; Shell Development (Australia) Proprietary Ltd; and Woodside Energy (Operator). CNOOC NWS Private Limited is also a member of the North West Shelf Venture but does not have an interest in the Venture’s infrastructure.
