PRESS RELEASE: November 30, 2007

J. Ray McDermott Completes Fabrication of Largest Integrated Deck in Batam

J. Ray McDermott, S. A. (J. Ray) is pleased to announce that the largest integrated deck to be constructed at its Batam Island, Indonesia fabrication facility has been successfully completed. The 17,000MT Arthit Process Platform (APP) was built for PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) and was loaded out onto the Intermac 650, J. Ray’s floatover/launch barge last week. Offshore installation and hook-up activities will be performed using J. Ray vessels in the period December 2007 to January 2008. The floatover installation will be performed using an innovative J. Ray floatover system built specially for the Arthit project on the Intermac 650.

Steve Roll, Vice President and General Manager of J. Ray’s Asia Pacific operations said, “Today marks the sailaway of the Arthit Process Platform. We are honored to have worked with PTTEP to successfully complete the fabrication and loadout process of this prestigious project. The synergy in co-operation between the PTTEP and J. Ray  teams demonstrates what can be achieved when talented individuals are brought together and work towards a common goal. The Arthit team has worked more than 5.5 million man hours without any lost time incident.  I am very proud of what this team has accomplished.”

The project, located in the Arthit field 35km northeast of the existing Bongkot field and 250km northeast of Songkhla in the Gulf of Thailand, is a major initiative towards the development of natural gas resources for the Kingdom of Thailand.  It will produce over 330 MMSCFD of natural gas and 10,000 12,000 barrels of condensate per day.

The APP contract was awarded in May 2005 by PTTEP and its scope included fabrication, transportation, installation, hook-up and pre-commissioning of the 17,000 MT APP topsides, equipped with natural gas and condensate treatment and processing facilities. The deck fabrication work commenced in the third quarter of 2005.  The Arthit jacket, also fabricated by J. Ray’s Batam facility, was previously loaded out on the Intermac 650 and transported for installation to the Arthit field.
