Technology:

  • Use of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) cut drawing review from weeks to days or hours.

Innovations:

  • The use of a small management team by the owners, integrated with key team members from the contractors' organizations and classification society, resulting in completion of the project within original schedule requirements

Description:

  • First use of spar as a floating base for production operations.

Scope:

Oryx - CNG contract, with J. Ray McDermott being responsible for:

  • Detailed design, construction engineering and procurement for topside facility to be installed on a spar platform
  • Installation engineering for the spar hull and detailed design of the riser buoyancy cans
  • Coordinated with ABS for classification and certification of topside facility
  • Transporting the spar hull from Ingalls shipyard to location
  • Upending and mooring the spar on location
  • Fabrication and installation of the 3,200 s.t. deck
  • Performing hull to deck hookup
  • Precommissioning installation of two flexible pipeline risers
